Syncplicity

You can think of Syncplicity as Dropbox for the enterprise. Syncplicity, by using the power of the cloud, helps businesses back up, manage, and share data efficiently. By using Syncplicity you can easily upload data to the cloud, sync data across platforms, access data from multiple locations, and share data with others. It’s pretty much the same functionality offered by Dropbox and other cloud services – but purpose built for the enterprise.

Syncplicity is available for multiple platforms: Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone.
The Quick Look video that accompanies this article presents the steps you must go through to get Syncplicity up and running on your Windows PC. You must install Syncplicity for Windows, log into your account, configure Syncplicity (set computer name, pick Syncplicity folder location), go through the instructions presented by a Welcome prompt.

Said Welcome prompt briefly presents the functionality Syncplicity has to offer: sync any folder you want, control what gets synced, collaborate using shared folders, send secure shared links to files.

Syncplicity integrates with Windows Explorer. Right click a file and you will be presented with two options: share link to the file; exclude file from the sync process. Right click a folder and you will also be presented with two options: add folder to Syncplicity (the folder will be synced), share folder.

As it is meant for the enterprise, Syncplicity takes security seriously. Here are some security features, just to put things in perspective: two-factor authentication, AES 256-bit encryption, remotely wipe devices, admin password and login restrictions, and more.
